Job Purpose
Applications are required to teach in the field of Geography and Social Sciences in the Intermediate Phase Education.
Candidates with specific skills in the teaching of Geography and Social Sciences in the Intermediate Phase Education on the Wellington Campus.
Please note that the position is based at the Wellington Campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: SENIOR LECTURER
A relevant Doctoral degree
A relevant teaching qualification
- Geography as a major subject at undergraduate level
- Four (4) years’ relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans (BEd tuition in Wellington is through Afrikaans)
- Evidence of post graduate supervision to completion
- A record of relevant research output
- Please note that preference will be given to candidates who meet the minimum requirements at Senior Lecturer level
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: LECTURER
A relevant Master’s degree.
A teaching qualification.
Geography as a major subject at undergraduate level
At least two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) relevant teaching experience at school level
Fluency in English and Afrikaans (BEd tuition in Wellington is through Afrikaans)

- Exposure to academic teaching methodology on a tertiary level
