Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer Vacancy: Department of Drama at the Rhodes University

The Drama Department is seeking to appoint someone at an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level and invites suitably qualified candidates to apply.
Requirements:
Associate Professor
A PhD in Theatre / Drama / Performance required. Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required. Candidates must have experience in teaching, publishing and creating works in the disciplinary areas of Performance Making (Theatre-Making / Choreography / Directing), OR Acting (film, television and/or stage) OR Physical Performance, OR Digital Performance.
Senior Lecturer
A PhD in Theatre / Drama / Performance is required. Teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates must have experience in teaching, publishing and creating works in the disciplinary areas of Performance Making (Theatre-Making / Choreography / Directing), OR Acting (film, television and/or stage) OR Physical Performance, OR Digital Performance. Experience in research supervision at Master’s degree level to completion.
Lecturer
A Master’s degree in Theatre/Drama/Performance required, with reasonable progress made towards a PhD. Candidates will be expected to graduate for a PhD within the probation period. Teaching experience at undergraduate level. Candidates must have experience in teaching in the disciplinary areas of Performance Making (Theatre-Making / Choreography / Directing), OR Acting (film, television and/or stage) OR Physical Performance, OR Digital Performance. Capacity and willingness to supervise research students. At least experience in research supervision at Fourth Year (Honours or Honours-equivalent) level.

Remuneration
Associate Professor Level:
Basic salary with Provident fund: R709 185 per annum
Approximate cost to company: R1 002 674 per annum
Senior Lecturer Level:
Basic salary with Provident fund: R595 885 per annum
Approximate cost to company: R845 211 per annum
Lecturer Level:
Basic salary with Provident fund: R493 443 per annum
Approximate cost to company: R692 794 per annum
