Job Purpose
To lead the Market Operations Enablement function for CIB Markets Operations through the execution of all strategic; tactical and operational aspects of the function; in line with Nedbank’s business strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a Change strategy for Markets Operations and translate it into a business plan alongside the IT plan with our Technical Departments.
- Enable the realisation of the financial business benefits including minimisation of operational costs development, enablement of scale and support for business revenue generating initiatives in a risk managed environment and within risk appetite.
- Contribute to and ensure the development of differentiated operationally relevant and capable superior solutions which enable the support of the trading floor.
- Obtain an understanding of product, process and change challenges and requirements of Markets Operations and represent these into the appropriate forums.
- Contribute to the development and execution and achievement of strategy and completive advantage delivery by translating the Markets Operations and Markets Business Unit strategy into a customised strategy.
- Develop and introduce a people strategy that will create a culture that drives the Cluster and Nedbank’s vision and values both now and into the future.

- Ensure that the leadership agenda has been embraced by the division/function.
- Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports.
- Actively build a culture of improvement. Participate in the recruitment and selection of senior staff.

- Ensure the achievement of targets by monitoring implemented Divisional EE and Transformation Plan,correcting any deviations.
- Support Nedbank strategy by driving corporate citizenship and DEI.
- Develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of a strategy to build a differentiated culture.
- Facilitate strategic planning. Ensure the decision making process of various stages in the initiative initiation life cycle and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure business continuity. Enable the achievement of business objectives.
- Ensure the appropriate procedural design and implementation of patterns achieving sound business, operational and technical components in response to product fulfilment.
- Minimise departmental risks.
- Ensure the scoping, analysis, development and implementation of projects within Market Operations with due consideration up and down stream.
- Ensure development and deployment of the appropriate measurement and other KRI, KPI and KCI metrics and related reporting so as to enable a data driven intelligent business.
- Manage the SLA’s with service providers.
- Deliver on strategic priorities. Enhance department standing.
- Progress the Agile methodology and mindset adoption within the environment.
People Specification

Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
Preferred Qualification
Masters Degree in an IT/ Finance related field
Minimum Experience Level
8 to 10 years experience in managing Trading systems with at least 5 years senior management experience in banking environment.
