The School of Clinical Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Gauteng department of Health, jointly invites suitably qualified fellows interested in being part of a dynamic, academic department, to apply for the following post.
- Sub – specialty Fellow in Uro-gynaecology (2 Years Fixed Term Contract)

Brief Description
Requirements:
- Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialty in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- The candidate must be highly motivated and enthusiastic in order to contribute positively to the Division of Uro-gynaecology.
- Good leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, conflict resolution and good interpersonal skills are important.
- The successful candidate must be adaptable, disciplined and self-confident.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and under pressure.
- The ability to initiate and conduct research will be an advantage.
Duties:
• As a consultant, the candidate will be responsible for clinical management of patients with obstetric and gynaecological problems and sub specialist (Uro-Gynaecology) responsibilities
• Daily ward round with registrars, medical officers and interns
• Responsible for attending to Uro-gynecological problems in-patients and out-patients
• Afterhours and weekend calls for general Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Supervising registrars in clinic and the ward
• Attending various combine multidisciplinary meetings (MDT)
• M&M and Academic meeting participation
• Teaching GEMP students (bedside teaching and other tutorials). Marking and being involved in examination of students.
• Outreach for Uro-gynaecological clinics at hospitals on the extended academic platform
• Administration duties as determined by the Department/ hospital
• Participate in all divisional, departmental and faculty meetings in order to facilitate effective teaching and research as well as to enhance continuing professional development.
• Maintain quality assurance standards and other departmental policies.
