Core Description
Responsible for conducting network costing studies for all network elements with the purpose to drive reliable and accurate end-to-end product costing of all Openserve products and services. The candidate will be accountable for all input costs for all products and services and ensure that complete and accurate assumptions are applied in the business in order to assist the pricing decision. Advise internal stakeholders (Sales, Product Development, Product Management, Commercial pricing) on all costing issues, queries, and cost study developments. Identify inefficiencies in the existing costing and pricing process and suggest solutions to improve the delivery of costing and pricing objectives within Openserve. Provide costing and minimum pricing analytics to assist the commercial pricing team in making tactical and strategic business decisions. Manage and approve all financial impact analysis studies of Customer Specific Solutions.

Job Responsibilities
Ensure all cost components and technology designs are accurately represented in the Local Network
· Ensure all cost components and technology designs are accurately represented in the Local Network Components (LNC) costing and are regularly updated
· Create and maintain models for all LNC costing and ensure continual improvement of cost modelling and cost principles over time.
· Liaise with Technical Product Development teams to ensure all cost components of a product are accurately represented.
· Annual review of network costing, impact on product costing and commercial pricing decision making
· Analyze and validate capital cost of expenditure related to development of new products
· Prepare end-to-end cost studies for the development of new products
· Validate assumptions, obtain costing information and generate scenarios for discussions with business units
· Develop and maintain financial pricing and viability models based on the requirements
· Generate reports, present findings, recommendations, assumptions, risks and financial impact of the proposals
· Contribute to discussions and reviews conducted during product development process. Be the costing and pricing champion for all new product developments
· Regular review and update of financial loading factors and financial assumptions used in product pricing. Calculate products and services minimum recoverable pricing based on input costs using approved financial parameters
· Annual review of existing product costs and impact analysis on commercial pricing
· Annual review of direct and indirect overheads absorbed by products. Conduct impact analysis of indirect costs on commercial pricing of products
· Ensure that all product/services cost studies are calculated in accordance with the costing principles and standards as generally used in a telecommunication environment
· Convening and coordinating regular meetings of bodies within Openserve with overall oversight of the costing and pricing effect
Customer-Specific Solutions (CSS)
· Validate and approve all costing and minimum prices related to CSS
· Quarterly update of forecasted financial perimeters used in the CSS process
· Attend RFQ meetings and give costing and pricing inputs to the bids team
· Manager timeous completion of all CSS and handle all internal queries/escalations related to costing and pricing of CSS
Reporting: Margin Analysis
· Develop a Product Margin Analysis Report to assist commercial pricing and product managers in strategic and tactical decision making
· Periodic reporting on product margins and product profitability as and when required by the business

None.
Qualifications
Relevant 3-year Degree/ Diploma (at least NQF level 6), preferably in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Finance and Commercial
Experience
5 years’ experience, of which at least 2 years must be relevant to the position. Experience in Product Costing and Pricing in the Telecommunication industry would be advantageous.
