Purpose Statement
- To build, execute, manage and maintain Data Governance Framework, policies, standards and controls in line with leading practices, regulations and Capitec requirements.
- To drive the implementation and adoption of controls from policies, procedures and standards to ensure that data is used and maintained correctly.
- To be the key liaison for data governance control and policy related queries throughout the business.
Experience
Minimum:
At least 3 – 5 years’ proven technical experience in:
- One or more of the Data Governance and Data Management portfolios
- Developing and maintaining corporate policies and standards; OR developing and maintaining Data Governance Ownership Frameworks
- Proven track record of stakeholder relationship management
Ideal:
5+ years’ proven technical experience in:
- One or more of the Data Governance and Data Management portfolios
- Developing and maintaining corporate policies and standards; OR developing and maintaining Data Governance Ownership Framework
- Experience preferably gained in a financial environment
- Practical experience in applying Agile way of working methodologies
Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology – Computer Science or Information Management
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- Diploma in Data Management
Knowledge
Minimum:
- The data product life cycle
- Agile principles and methodology
- Data Governance and Management practices
- Business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Corporate governance principles
- DAMA-DMBOK principles
- Familiar with regulatory requirements such as RDARR, POPI, GDPR, PCI DSS and Data Product Life Cycle
- Knowledge on Data Management tools
Ideal:
- Knowledge of data and analytics within the banking or finance industry
- Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
- Industry leading Data Governance and Management practices
- Formulation of Data Governance and Management metrics
- Data visualisation of Data Governance and management KPIs
- Information systems and information system architecture
- Workflow and process re-engineering
- TOGAF (Data Security and Access Management)
- Knowledge of Cloud and on-premises data solutions (AWS preferred)
- ISF Framework (Data Security and Access Management Knowledge of data and analytics within the banking or finance industry
