INTERNAL AUDITOR – DATA ANALYTICS X 2

Job Purpose:
Developing, assembling, and distributing the analytics needed to support Internal Audit teams prior to the start of audit fieldwork activities. Also support and participate in Internal Audits focused on Financial, Operational, IT & Compliance risks.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Internal Audit or Computer Science or Business Information Systems / BTech in Internal Audit.
- Be registered in IIASA / ISACA
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 years working experience as a data report analyst, data analyst or business data analyst or internal audit
- Experience in data models and reporting packages (BI Tools)
Added advantage:
- Experience in reviewing ITS will be an added advantage
- Experience in ACL will be an added advantage
Duties:
- Assist manager in planning, development and execution of ICT audit-based data analysis procedures to create sustainable and repeatable data analytics.
- Research and development on latest data analytical tools and methodologies.
- Design and develop dashboards to present trends and data analytical results.
- Assist in the development of excel models to help Internal Audit teams implement data analytical solutions.
- Identify and acquire the necessary data from relevant source systems used by Internal Auditors to develop the data analytics needed to support internal audit team;
- Work with Internal Audit team members, IT, and the Business to outline data requirements, and obtaining the necessary accesses to acquire data;
- Assist in developing and maintaining an ongoing comprehensive risk-based methodology;
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and analysis processes working with the management team to establish business needs;
- Using automated tools to extract information or data from primary and secondary sources;
- Generating reports from single or multiple systems for the purpose of analyzing and interpretation of data;
- Design, develop and execute computer assisted audit techniques (CAATS) in data analytical software
- Preparing final analysis reports for the Internal Audit unit to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends
- Assist and support the Internal Audit unit in the transformation of raw data into meaningful statistics, information, and explanations
- Work with Internal Audit teams for analytics which can be performed during fieldwork activities;
- Perform information technology, financial and operational reviews which address financial risk, business and operational risks, technology risks and regulatory risks, develop recommendations around existing controls in place the necessity to develop new controls
- Highlighting problem areas and proposing recommended actions to business areas based on the analysis and interpretation of the property data and reports;
- Publish analytics results to the Internal Audit teams, and provide support / training as necessary to interpret and refine the results of the analytics provided;
- Communicate the results of internal audit reviews directly with business unit and management;
- Perform other related special projects as assigned
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyses and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at using queries to retrieve data from Sequel (SQL) database. Ability to analyses and interpret numbers and data
- Ability to organise datasets and create pivots and graphs in MS Excel (advanced level) familiarity with data visualization tools
- Ability to “think outside the box” and apply creative and constructive thinking to proposed recommendations for improvements to internal process, procedures and policies
- Excellent communication and listening skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
